The Good, The Bad, and The Lovely
|
Well, the good news is my jewelry website www.Cowboys-Sweetheart.com is finally up and running. It has taken months and millions of tax dollars to develop, so I hope you won’t be disappointed. The bad news is not many folks know it exists, yet... which is why I am here now, humbled before you dear readers, begging your attention from holiday parties so that you might notice my lovely jewelry. Yes, my jewelry! It’s made by yours truly! I never in a million years imagined that I would have my very own jewelry studio! Though, it’s been no bed of roses: I beat things with hammers and light things on fire all day, and I have to wear earplugs and dust masks…… ah, such is life. My life. Which, in many ways, resembles a Spaghetti Western film. Here's how…. I emerged in the late-60s, and was co-produced by an Italian, hence the name Fortunato. After completing art school, I moved to the American Southwest and, typical of the genre, became immersed in a culture of minimal funds, gunslingers, outlaws, artistic camera angles, and raw, explosive action scenes. A low-budget, highly fluid, minimalist, creative lifestyle was the result. Audiences loved it, and I’ve come to be held in high regard particularly because of the impact I’ve had on others! Which brings us to the present… Why, just last week I was invited to be part of a holiday gathering happening in Crested Butte on the 18th, 19th and 20th of this month and hosted by ‘Artisits on Assignment’. AOA was developed by my dear friend Kate Seeley to combine the creative skills of artists with their aspirations to support global concerns. The venues that exhibit and auction the art are designed to inspire, to motivate, to educate, and to involve people from all walks of life, utilizing the art and gatherings of different minds to spark dialogue, networking, and awareness of both local and global concerns. AOA’s philosophy is to give something back, allowing donors to have a print, painting, photograph, sculpture…..or jewelry, while knowing that their investment supports both the arts and the causes by which they were inspired. The event is at 2 Trolls Studio, 126 Elk Avenue, Crested Butte, Colorado.
'Tis the season and thank you for passing this newsletter along to others who might enjoy it too!
With grit, grace, and a sense of humor, Amy Fortunato
