When I am not saddling up my Siberian huskies, Nugget and Cowboy, and chasing them up backcountry trails, I can usually be found in my studio. But, no matter how many times I tread those same trails, I always observe some new natural beauty; a delicate flower, a shadow on the snow, the shape of a leaf...and I become creatively inspired. With over fifteen years of retail sales and retail/gallery management experience, teaching experience, and graphic design experience, combined with a degree in Fine Arts, I’ve decided to take the bull by the horns and create my own line of jewelry. The hand-crafted jewelry is either a one-of-a-kind or a limited-edition piece thoughtfully designed with quality craftsmanship, beauty, and durability in mind.  Like the cowgirls whose spirits also inspire my work, these pieces have integrity, grace, and spunk. You can dress them up, or you can dress them down. Each Cowboy’s Sweetheart creation is a unique work of art intended to be worn and enjoyed for its beauty, and to rustle up that free spirit within women from all walks of life. Semi-precious stones, sterling silver, copper, freshwater pearls, leather, and hand-stitched beads are some of the materials carefully combined to create my collections. Please have a look. If you see something you like, contact me so we can discuss design ideas and create a unique piece especially for you or your sweetheart!
Cowboy’s Sweetheart studio can, and should, be visited by appointment. My studio is in a small, rustic cabin on Lefthand Creek near Gold Hill, Colorado, built almost completely out of recycled materials. I buy shares of wind-powered energy to offset the electricity used to power the studio. Because it is in a canyon, the passive solar potential is minimal, especially in
the winter, but the studio has two, big sky-lights that make the most of what sunlight there is. I save and recycle all of my off-cuts and scrap metal from making jewelry, and I am dedicated to learning more ways in which I can reduce my impact on the environment by minimizing my carbon bootprint. I simply love what I do and I love where I do it. I hope to nurture that sustainability.
